Green Productivity [GP] is a program focused on energy management, and implemented at Ansell's Asian manufacturing operations. Energy management at Ansell focuses on achieving the most efficient and effective use of energy and simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Productivity Enhancement provides the framework for continuous improvement. Environmental Protection provides the foundation for sustainability development. Sustainability is the driving force for Green Productivity.

Programs that have been implemented include the installation of equipment to recover energy from flue gas emitted from boiler chimneys as an energy source to heat water, the installation of energy efficient equipment to provide chilled water for manufacturing site cooling systems and the conversion of manufacturing site power plants to energy efficient cogeneration systems.

Future programs will include the installation of biomass boiler systems using wood pellets as the energy source.  Greenhouse gas emission reductions generated by these systems will also result in the creation of Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) which will be available for use by the company.
