20 February 2019 - Ansell Limited (ASX:ANN), a global leader in safety protection solutions, announces the appointment of Ms. Christine Yingli Yan as an independent non-executive Director to the Ansell Limited Board, with effect on 1 April 2019.

Ms. Yan has also been invited to become a member of the Audit & Compliance Committee and the Human Resources Committee.

Ms. Yan’s appointment forms part of the well-orchestrated Board succession plans announced in 2017 and fills the vacancy on the Board that will arise upon the retirement of the Chairman, Mr. Glenn Barnes, at the 2019 Annual General Meeting.

Ms. Yan is an experienced executive who has had a distinguished career at Stanley Black & Decker. Ms. Yan has held senior management positions in both the US and China, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North America Automotive, President of the Global Automotive Division, President of Americas for the Engineered Fastening division, President of Stanley Storage and Workspace Systems and more recently, President of Asia and Vice President of Integration. Ms. Yan brings a broad range of general management experience across different geographies, as well as experience in innovation, business development, sales, digital transformation and marketing in the business-to-business industry.

Ms. Yan holds a Bachelors’ Degree of Mechanical Engineering from Shandong University, China, a Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University, USA, and a MBA from the University of Michigan, USA.

In announcing the new appointment, Ansell Chairman Glenn Barnes said “We are delighted to have attracted Christine to our board, where she will bring new and contemporary skills and experiences that are complementary to those of the current directors, and will cover gaps created by recent and planned retirements. The combination of Christine’s appointment and my retirement in November will bring the gender balance of our board to 50:50, fulfilling a public commitment made by the directors of Ansell.”
