IMPROVED PRODUCT INCREASES ARC FLASH PROTECTION TO GUARD WORKERS' HANDS
RED BANK, N.J. (April 24, 2012) – Workers who face the risk of arc flash now have additional protection at hand as Ansell Protective Products re-launches PowerFlex® 80-813 gloves, a line of hand protection that combines flame resistance, cut protection and ergonomics. PowerFlex 80-813 gloves now feature enhanced arc flash protection for workers and are Arc Rated for Hazard/Risk Category (HRC) 2 with a rating of 12.0 cal/cm2. In addition, PowerFlex 80-813 gloves feature Ansell's exclusive cut resistant yarn to achieve ANSI Level 4 cut protection in wet, oily and dry work environments.
Power Flex 80-813 gloves were designed after multiple customer requests for a hand protection solution that combines flame resistance, cut resistance and ergonomics. The user-friendly gloves feature coated palms for added grip confidence, and provide exceptional protection with EN Level 4 flame resistance. "After working with Hugh Hoagland, a prominent expert in electrical arc testing and safety, Ansell recognized the need for improved protection against arc flash. We have updated our popular PowerFlex 80-813 gloves to meet those needs while continuing to provide long-wearing comfort and dexterity for workers," said Laura Proctor, Ansell Senior Marketing Manager.
PowerFlex 80-813 gloves feature Ansell's patented knitted variable stitch design (KVSD) to release tension in high stress zones and ensure an ergonomic fit. The gloves' improved ergonomics help achieve less hand fatigue and reduce the possibility of carpal tunnel injuries. A D3 Pinky design also allows a more natural fit for greater comfort.
The improved PowerFlex 80-813 gloves are ideal in a variety of industries including electric and gas utilities, oil processing and refining, petrochemical, mining, resource manufacturing and construction.
The gloves are available in a range of sizes (6-11) to accommodate the hands of almost any worker. They are machine launderable with minimal shrinking and good recovery, and they hide soil for longer wear and reduced replacement costs.
