Product Donations Sent to Beirut Relief Efforts

The world  was shocked by the catastrophic explosion that devastated large parts of Beirut, Lebanon in August.

Experts say the blast was one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history. It was caused by a fire that ignited a 2,750-ton (2-500-metric-ton) stockpile of highly explosive ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse at the Port of Beirut. The blast killed at least 200 people, injured 6,500, and left 300,000 people homeless. Damage exceeded more than $3 billion, and Lebanon's collective economic losses may amount to $15 billion.

Ansell Product Donation

Moving quickly to assist, Ansell has mobilized product donations to the Lebanese Red Cross, and two main hospitals in the district that were severely damaged by the blast. The supported hospitals are Hôtel-Dieu de France, and LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital.

The donation included 76,024 pairs of surgical gloves, 52,345 pairs of exam gloves, 197,600 pairs of single use gloves, 1,123 protective suits, and 281 pairs of chemical gloves, with a total value of € 115,000.

Thank you to our distributor in Lebanon, Mediline Integrated Solutions who helped us complete the shipment clearance and distribution to selected organizations.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to all employees for your thoughts, messages and positive response. Special thank you to the Beirut Donation Team, as well as to the Leadership team and HR. The donation would not be possible without their support.
