Ansell Ltd. November 19, 2013

November 19, 2013, Iselin, NJ, - Ansell, a global leader in protection solutions, announces the introduction of the new HyFlex 11-101 and 11-105 gloves, the first touch screen-capable HyFlex gloves for industrial work environments. Both gloves are manufactured with a special conductive yarn designed to allow seamless interaction with touch screen equipment without removing gloves.

Incorporating new technology into traditional work environments is a rapidly growing trend, and the application of touch screen technology has increased within the industrial sector. In the past three years alone, more than 65 percent of companies across the U.S. have started using touch screens, and nearly 90 percent of equipment managers expect more of their employees to begin using touch screens in the next five years. Unfortunately, most gloves for industrial applications are not optimized for touch screens. While touch screens allow site managers to expedite data input, maintain schedules and quickly place orders, safety regulations require that all workers move to safety zones before removing their gloves.

HyFlex 11-101 and 11-105 gloves are made with a conductive yarn fiber that leverages the electrical signals naturally generated by the human body to activate touch screens. The yarn is woven with a layer of metal that provides conductivity between the fingertip and touch screen so workers do not have to remove gloves while using touch technology, improving productivity and minimizing potential safety hazards.

"Our HyFlex brand is built on a legacy of innovation, addressing the changing needs of the industrial sector by delivering the best in personal protective equipment," said Bob Gaither, Ansell senior vice president and regional director, North America. "The HyFlex 11-101 and 11-105 products offer the touch precision, consistency, and sensitivity needed to operate in increasingly technological environments while maintaining the safety, comfort and tactility workers require."

While both HyFlex 11-101 and 11-105 gloves are covered with a layer of polyurethane coating for enhanced sliding and finger movement, they feature different dipping styles to meet specific user needs. The 11-101 is palm-dipped for optimum mechanical resistance and protection, while the 11-105 glove is finger-dipped for improved fit and flexibility. The 11-101 and 11-105 products are also the first HyFlex gloves to feature the new Ansell product branding, allowing equipment managers to easily identify safety capabilities and product features from the glove design itself.

Since its creation in 1999, HyFlex has become the number one selling hand protection solution for the industrial sector, with gloves specialized to meet a variety of increasing demands of the industry. Gaining critical recognition and market share for its winning combination of comfort, performance and protection, the portfolio is highly regarded for the breadth of its offerings. HyFlex products are available in more than 34 styles, boasting the most comprehensive synthetic glove portfolio in the industry.

For more than 100 years, Ansell has been recognized for continually innovating and leading the hand-protection and protective clothing industry, providing specialized solutions that meet the unique challenges faced by workers across sectors. With over half a million workers wearing HyFlex gloves every day, Ansell remains dedicated to producing gloves that fit the variety of needs in the automotive, machinery, metal fabrication, transportation, maintenance and utilities industries.

The HyFlex 11-101 and 11-105 gloves are now available for sale in the U.S. and will be distributed globally throughout 2013. More information can be found at For more information on Ansell, call 800.800.0444 in the US or visit, or In Canada contact Ansell Customer Service at 800.363.8340.
