BACKGROUND
This RV manufacturer is based in North America and its vehicles are used primarily in leisure travel and outdoor recreation activities. They have a large assembly facility that is surrounded by smaller satellite plants with over 2,000 employees that work over three shifts. The main concern was the high number of cut injuries being sustained in production.

OBJECTIVES

• Reduce the number of cut injuries

• Increase PPE compliance

• Reduce the amount of SKUs

AnsellGUARDIAN® SOLUTIONS

AnsellGUARDIAN® deduced the cut injuries were due to a lack of safety compliance and non-usage of gloves. In conjunction with their safety group it was decided to move to a minimum of a cut level A2 platform. HyFlex® 11-644 was determined to be the best solution for workers moving from department to department. HyFlex® 11-931 was chosen to be used with adhesives and to reduce puncture as a result of its reinforced thumb crotch.

RESULTS

The recommended gloves created a 100% rate of compliance which led to a significant reduction in the number of cut injuries. SKUs were reduced by 50% since 3 different gloves style were replaced by the HyFlex® 11-644.
