The COVID-19 pandemic created a global supply shortage of PPE. Ansell’s teams have been working tirelessly to maximize production and expand capacity, but we can’t meet the overwhelming demand alone. We’ve been partnering with other manufacturers to increase supply and ensure that PPE reaches those who need it most.

We’ve proudly joined the DuPont #TyvekTogether program. DuPont is increasing capacity of Tyvek® protective fabric and working with Ansell and other partners to deliver it as quickly as possible to frontline workers. Through this collaboration, Ansell is producing 600,000 isolation gowns made of Tyvek® fabric, which will be provided to the frontlines by Henry Schein, a leading distributor of healthcare products and services in the U.S.

Paul Bryce, Ansell Chemical Solutions SBU VP & GM, explained the collaboration: “As a safety company, we are committed to protecting our communities and frontline workers. We knew we could not meet the soaring demand for PPE alone. So, we naturally decided to combine our respective know-how in the unique AlphaTec® gown with Tyvek® fabric and protect North America frontline workers fighting COVID-19.”

According to David Domnisch, Global Business Leader, DuPont Personal Protection,“It’s vital we come together as an industry to help the frontline heroes get the PPE they need to stay protected. We had maximized our production of PPE through our existing converter network, and we believed that working with other companies to convert their PPE production to Tyvek® would be the fastest way to protect more people.”
