Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) is an international industry standard sampling process for evaluating the quality of a finished glove product. AQL measures quality by determining the highest number of defects accepted in a random selection of a glove product batch. The lower the AQL, the better the quality and less likelihood of defects. Look for AQL markings to certify the quality of your gloves, as low quality means more defects and microperforations which presents a greater risk of healthcare worker exposure to pathogens.

AQL is a pass/fail of a predetermined sample size of gloves that are randomly selected from a batch of gloves. By examining International Surgical and Examination glove standards, or in this case, a more stringent standard set in place by Ansell, you can choose gloves that ensure the highest quality and offer you the best protection.
