PEI & Ansell, Join Forces for Sustainability

Sustainability is a shared responsibility. Which is why PEI, a leading surgical and medical device distributor in Ireland, teamed up with Ansell and the local marine charity Flossie and The Beach Cleaners for a meaningful sustainability initiative. Together, the combined team rolled up their sleeves, hit the beach, and collected 18 kilograms of waste, while also diving into the eye-opening topic of micro-plastics and their impact on our oceans.

However this wasn’t just about picking up litter. The event was designed to close the loop on waste management—linking Ansell’s Zero Waste to Landfill goal with their reduced-waste SMART Pack solutions. It also brought PEI into the fold, showing how distributors can play an active role in driving sustainability efforts at a local level.

This initiative underscored the power of collaboration across the supply chain. Why does that matter? Because sustainable success isn’t a solo act. It takes a holistic approach—one that considers environmental, social, and economic angles. By working together, suppliers, distributors, and community partners can identify environmental risks more effectively, increase transparency, and hold each other accountable.

This beach clean-up was a clear demonstration that Ansell and PEI are serious about environmental stewardship. From global supply chains to local shorelines, we're proving that when it comes to sustainability, we don’t just talk—we act.
