Following the 2024 revision of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, there is growing awareness and an urgent need for compliance across a wide range of industries.
Ansell conducted a survey of over 500 occupational health and safety professionals regarding awareness of the legal revisions. The results revealed strong recognition of the need to comply with the changes, while also highlighting key challenges such as difficulties in selecting appropriate gloves and the lack of internal communication, training, and awareness programs.*
Given the wide variety of chemicals used in diverse work environments, collecting and managing permeation data specific to each site and condition can be both time-consuming and complex.
To support this process, Ansell offers the Guardian Chemical Service, a free program that provides permeation data assessments, as well as on-site consultations, where our experts visit customer facilities to evaluate work environments and provide tailored assessments.
Ansell has accumulated permeation data on protective gloves for over 50,000 chemical substances — the largest collection in the industry — through its data service, Guardian Chemical Service, which scientifically recommends optimal protective equipment based on the chemical hazards involved. Users can evaluate chemical resistance, search for products tailored to specific applications and conditions, and access test data online free of charge. Since the revision of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, inquiries from customers through this service have increased more than fourfold compared to before the amendment.**

**Before the revision, inquiries from Japan were about 900 per year, but after the revision, they increased sharply to around 4,000, according to internal inquiry data.
