Tokyo, Japan, June 2, 2025 - Ansell Limited (ASX: ANN), a global leader in protection solutions, announces that it will begin taking orders and responding to customer inquiries for KIMTECH™ in Japan and throughout Asia Pacific this month.
This follows Ansell's strategic acquisition of Kimberly-Clark’s Personal Protective Equipment (KCPPE) business unit in June 2024 and marks the launch of the KIMTECH™ brand of scientific PPE for laboratory and cleanroom environments. With this acquisition, Ansell strengthens its commitment to serving the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and semiconductor manufacturing sectors with precision-engineered, compliant PPE.
In addition, Ansell has incorporated the RightCycle™ Program, a sustainable solution for the collection and disposal of PPE waste such as non-hazardous gloves and garments. While the program is already operational in the United States, Ansell is actively amid preparing to expand its availability in Asia Pacific, including Japan.
Regulatory Context and Industry Challenge
One year after the revision of Japan’s Occupational Health and Safety Law, many industries—including manufacturing and cleaning—are working to comply with the updated requirements. A key change has been the dramatic increase in chemical substances requiring risk assessment, rising from 674 to approximately 2,900.
As a result, many corporate health and safety managers are facing new challenges, such as selecting the right gloves for chemical protection and improving internal education and awareness efforts.
Ansell's Expertise and Customer Support Services
To support these evolving needs, Ansell offers industry-leading expertise through its Guardian Chemical Service, which provides scientific data on glove resistance to over 50,000 chemical substances—the most extensive database in the industry. This free service helps safety managers select the most appropriate protective gloves based on specific applications and usage conditions.
Since the legal revision, customer inquiries to the Guardian Chemical Service have increased more than fourfold. Demand for Ansell’s compliance-focused workshops and consultations has also surged, with many health and safety professionals seeking guidance on transparency data and appropriate product selection.
Interphex Tokyo 2025 Participation
Against this backdrop, Ansell will exhibit for the first time at Interphex Week Tokyo 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 9 to 11. At the booth, Ansell will showcase KIMTECH™, its newly launched line of scientific PPE in Japan, and BioClean™, a cleanroom garment engineered for ergonomic comfort and global contamination control standards.Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with Ansell’s global product development teams, who will be on-site to discuss product features, case studies, and support solutions tailored to the revised legislation. In-booth seminars will also be available for corporate safety managers seeking hands-on guidance with transparency data and compliance topics.
