Impact gloves are a type of personal protection equipment (PPE) designed to help prevent hand injuries in work environments with high risks of impact hazards. Industries that are most susceptible to impact injuries include the oil and gas industry, mining, and manufacturing. Many workers are regularly exposed to impact injuries and based on findings by OHSA, 71% of hand injuries could be avoided if suitable PPE was used in the designated work environment. Therefore, workers must be protected with impact-resistant gloves for their daily tasks.
Ansell’s RINGERS® Impact gloves offer maximum safety when it comes to impact risks in the workplace.
These gloves are designed with a signature impact protection system that uses thermoplastic rubber (TPR) which is a key element that helps reduce the impact from hitting the bone. RINGERS® Impact gloves provide not only protection but also are made to optimize dexterity, flexibility, and comfort without compromising protection.

As mentioned earlier, impact gloves are most important when the risk of impact injuries is the highest. Common industries that are vulnerable to impact hazards are:
Ansell gloves are tested and certified in accordance with the American standard ANSI/ISEA 138, which defines performance requirements for impact protection. This standard ensures gloves meet rigorous criteria for safeguarding hands during occupational tasks, focusing on knuckle and finger impact resistance.
ANSI/ISEA 138 – Dorsal Impact Standard
This standard specifies the capability of gloves in providing adequate protection against impact.

Ratings
The rating of the glove will reflect the lowest performance level recorded across multiple tests. Level 1 is the lowest rating for impact protection, and Level 3 is the highest.
Testing
Peak transmitted force is measured by mounting samples centrally on an anvil while a 2.5 kg mass is dropped with an impact energy of 5 J. The lower the transmitted force, the greater the degree of protection. Palm side is removed from the impact location while tests are performed on the knuckles and fingers separately.
Naturally, Ansell's impact protection gloves can help reduce injuries from more than just impact hazards.
Ansell’s impact-resistant gloves are designed to protect against multiple hazards, with cut and abrasion resistance at the core of our solutions. Ringers range also offer specialized palm technologies that enhance grip, helping users select the right glove for their specific tasks. With this multi-hazard protection, workers can feel confident performing their duties in challenging environments.
