An Update for Our Partners: Supply Challenges and Prioritization

Addressing A Global Shortage

Around the globe, healthcare providers, first responders, and other essential workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic are faced with a shortage of PPE. This shortage is caused not only by an unprecedented surge in demand, but also a series of supply challenges, including labor shortages, government restrictions on exports and shipments across borders, and significant increases in raw material costs. While many of these challenges are outside of Ansell’s control, our teams are working tirelessly to ensure that the personal protective equipment we manufacture reaches those who need it most.

Overcoming Manufacturing Restrictions

To address these supply challenges, Ansell is urging governments to allow manufacturing plants and borders to remain open in-order to facilitate the supply of PPE. Learn more about our government outreach in our recent press release. We’ve been recognized as an essential service provider in many of the countries where we operate, and we are doing everything we can to expedite delivery of PPE to the frontlines of the pandemic. Although limitations on the manufacture, transport, and importation of packaging and raw materials have impacted some of our factories, we’ve adapted to meet the growing demand. Ansell is maximizing production, expanding capacity, and focusing on products that are most critical to healthcare providers, particularly single use/exam gloves, chemical and surgical gloves, and body protection suits.

Prioritizing Healthcare Workers & Essential Industry Workers

Ansell products are critical to keeping millions of healthcare and essential industry professionals safe as they work to fight the spread of COVID-19. We are prioritizing orders intended for these end-users over others, in-order to allocate our PPE supply in an ethically responsible manner. Our regional sales teams have implemented a variety of reviews, controls and automatic alerts on orders of single-use, surgical, and chemical gloves and body protection products to ensure we are servicing these frontline workers first, while doing our best to meet the regular safety needs of our broader customer base. We appreciate the patience our customers have shown during this global health and safety crisis and are working to improve our allocation processes and order information accuracy.

We’re honored to be partnering with you to help protect the lives of global workers at this important time.
