How to measure glove size

Hand injuries are some of the most common workplace injuries across industries, and Ansell offers hand protection solutions for resistance to cuts, abrasions, impacts, chemical exposures, and a variety of other hazards. Additionally, it’s important to find the correct sizing to ensure the optimal levels of comfort and tactility. Glove size measures in inches so all you need is a tape measure to find the right size gloves for you.

To find out your glove size, wrap a measuring tape around the widest part of your hand that’s just below the knuckle and excluding your thumb. For this measurement, it’s best to use your dominant hand, so measure your left if you are left-handed and vice versa. Then measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your hand. Once you have both measurements, use the larger of the two to determine your proper glove size.

Below you will find sizes by number as well as letter sizes:

If your hand measures 6.5 - 7 inches, choose size 7, Small.

If your hand measures 7.5 – 8 inches, choose size 8, Medium.

If your hand measures 8.5 – 9 inches, choose size 9, Large.

If your hand measures 9.5 – 10 inches, choose size 10, XL.

If your hand measures 10.5 – 11 inches, choose size 11, XXL.

You can also utilize our sizing chart below as another measurement option to find the best fitting glove throughout our portfolio of multi-hazard hand protection.

Ansell Protects

We have many different types of glove styles to provide the correct hand protection for your industry. Our gloves are designed to maintain comfort and dexterity without reducing productivity and protection.

Mechanical Protection:

Those working in more industrial environments are exposed to countless risks on the job and are more likely to suffer from injuries that include cuts, burns, and exposure to toxic liquids or gases. Our mechanical gloves provide reliable protection from cuts and abrasions while repelling the oily materials that workers often encounter in industrial environments.

Chemical Protection:

Understanding the complex chemical relations and combinations is significant when protecting against chemical hazards. Workers must also be protected from contamination including vapor, spray, splash, and immersion in addition to exposure through inhalation or skin absorption. Our AlphaTec® solutions protect against a variety of chemical interactions and reduce permeation, degradation, and penetration.

Impact Protection:

Our RINGERS® gloves protect workers in a variety of industries from impact injuries including oil and gas, mining, or manufacturing. As an industry leader, our impact protection gloves meet the ANSI/ISEA 138-2019 standard, which means your protective equipment is ‘Built for Impact.’

Disposable Protection:

Our disposable solutions are engineered with our proprietary technologies, allowing workers to do their jobs without reducing comfort and productivity. Whether you need high-touch, multi-purpose, robust, high risk, or controlled environment gloves, our MICROFLEX® and TouchNTuff® brands can meet your hand-protection needs.
